I got the back binding all sanded flush, saved myself a ton of time by whacking it down with a razor first. Next I installed the truss rod, and glued the filler stick, that went super smoothly, nice tight fit.
I got in some Madagascar rosewood headstock veneer, and an Indian rosewood fretboard. I like the look of wood grain better than ebony, and this is super nice wood. I am considering not binding the headstock, so the wood can shine, and because I don’t have a 30 degree router base. This will require taking a corner of the veneer and gluing it to part of the side so that it is thick enough at the top.
After this dried, I chiseled and sanded flush the excess filler strip.
